insects are in crisis

Since 1999, we’ve lost an estimated 75% of our flying insect biomass globally due to pesticide use, climate change, and habitat destruction.

Our Mission

The Biodiversity Victory Gardens Project aims to create a grassroots movement to close the habitat gap and help insect populations recover by turning backyards into oases for native plants and insects. We share artwork and education about biodiversity, climate action, and accessible DIY project ideas in a way that feels approachable and fun, no science degree or even gardening experience required. We want to help stem global biodiversity decline by spreading awareness of how individuals can make sustainable change with their shovel, their wallet, and their voice.

“Knowledge generates interest, and interest generates compassion.”

The Pollinator
Pantone Series

The BVG Project partners with artists to distill the complex biodiversity crisis into bite-sized, visual messages and inspire individuals to act! This first collection of 7 art prints feature the blooms that attract our various pollinators.

“But what can I do?”

In the face of potential ecological collapse, it can feel like one person has no power to make a difference. The good news is that small, individual acts are exactly what insects and biodiversity need today. Parks and conservation areas alone will not be enough on their own to save biodiversity. The spaces in between hold the answer to a vibrant future. The BVG Project is all about making biodiversity accessible - something as small as adding a potted plant, leaving some leaves in the yard instead of raking, or sharing information with a friend can make a big difference for your local biome.
